Homemade Sugar Cookies! (Require Eggs*)

Right now I am baking sugar cookies. The recipe calls for at point, for you to separate an egg yolk from the white. I failed horribly at this, so my cookies are now covered with just regular egg.

Okay, they are out of the oven. They are probably the best tasting sugar cookies I've ever eaten. However, they do NOT look appealing at all. That egg white that goes on top? Yeah well that clumped in some places. And the extra vanilla I used made them taste superb, but they came out looking mildly discolored. Also, they are falling apart everywhere. So I'll just have to let them cool and see how badly the damage is then, sorry I didn't put the recipe link on here, but the recipe will be placed below, I made a few minor alterations, such as using a mixture of vegetable shortening/vegetable oil/and a small amount of butter instead of just butter, because of lack of ingredients...I also didn't use any cinnamon.

*I consider myself a vegetarian but still eat eggs, if you do not eat eggs or are vegan, this recipe will not work for you.

SUGAR COOKIE RECIPE:

Ingredients:
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 egg white
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup white sugar
1 table spoon ground cinnamon

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a large/medium size pan.
2. In a large bowl mix margarine, butter, and sugar until smooth.
3: Add egg yolk and vanilla to the mixture.
4. Combine the flour, salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, stir into the large bowl with other ingredients.
5. Press the mixture into the pan.
6. Beat the egg white until frothy and spread it over the top of the dough.
7. Combine the remaining cinnamon and sugar, sprinkle it and the nuts over the top of the cookies.
8. Bake for 15-20 minutes in the preheated oven.
9. Remove from oven, cut into diamonds while still warm, then cool completely before removing from the pan.

Tangy Salad

This is my own recipe, a family favorite and not your average salad, this very healthy salad is actually tasty! What you need is a head of lettuce, 1 or 2 small tomatoes, or 2 avacadoes (optional), 1 cup lemon juice, and 3 teaspoons salt.

First, cut ALL the lettuce into small pieces, (about 1 inch all around) Place about 1/3 of this into a large salad bowl. Next, dice/slice the tomatoes and place about half of this into the bowl on top of the lettuce. Then slice the avacadoes into small chunks, about 2 inches long. Place half of these over the top. Then repeat layering again, finally topping with the rest of the lettuce. So you have several layers in this order, lettuce, tomatoes, avacadoes, lettuce, tomatoes, avacadoes, lettuce. Then mix the salt and lemon juice together and pour over the top. Enjoy! :]
